Discussion task:

We produce aesthetic responses to music all the time, at gigs, or in rehearsals, when discussing a new record or video or using online fora (such as this). Please post an example (could be a video or written review, for example) of aesthetic discourse and try and pick out the particular values and assumptions that it expresses - what does the person think about the value of the music and about musical values in general? Can they be related to more general values? And what techniques and they use to get their message across?

For on-campus students, we can talk about your examples in next week's seminar.
